Julia Furlan
Born and raised in New York, Julia Furlan has enjoyed working with Primo Artists since 2017, having started as an intern and risen to Website Manager. She also serves as the Editorial Manager of the popular classical music news platform, The Violin Channel.
A trained pianist, Julia graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and a minor in Music Business. She has performed at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center, Tenri Cultural Institute, Greenwich House and Montclair State University, among others.
Julia went on to receive her Master’s degree in Performance and Pedagogy of Injury Preventive Piano Technique from Salem College and continues her work in promoting musicians’ health. In addition to serving on the Performing Arts Medicine Association’s Young Professional’s Committee, she holds a certificate in the “Essentials of Performing Arts Medicine - Instrumental Music” and teaches at the Intensive Training Workshops of piano technique pioneer, Barbara Lister-Sink. After studying and playing on the alternatively sized keyboards (7/8 and 15/16 sizes), Julia hopes to become an advocate for smaller-handed, female pianists who have been disadvantaged by the large, conventional keyboard size.
