Benedetti wins Global’s “Best Classical Award”

Nicola Benedetti has won the “Best Classical Award” at the 2019 Global Awards Ceremony! It was a busy day yesterday as Nicola spent the morning at Buckingham Palace where she received her CBE from Prince Charles. She later headed to the Global Music Awards to collect her second win of the day!

Nicola’s category was voted by the public, with fellow nominees saxophonist Jess Gillam, bass-baritone Bryn Terfel, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason and pianist Lang Lang — who also performed at the ceremony.

Accepting the award, Nicola said: “Thank you so much for this honor. Classical music is a very intimate form of music and it’s often a longer form of music and can take more concentration, but it’s so so worth it.”
