GEMMA NEW TO CONDUCT NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC IN 29TH ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY CONCERT

NEW YORK (May 17, 2021) — Gemma New will conduct the New York Philharmonic in their 29th Annual Memorial Day Concert on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 7:00pm at The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine.

Performed without intermission and presented by the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation, the program includes works by Mahler, Jessie MontgomeryMozartSchubert and Carlos Simon. While the concert will not be open to the public, in compliance with current health and safety guidelines, it will be livestreamed for free on NYPhil+ and on the Philharmonic’s Facebook and YouTube channels and on the Cathedral’s website and Facebook page. The audio of the performance will be broadcast onto the adjacent Pulpit Green, weather permitting. Seating on the Pulpit Green will be limited and physically distanced.
