ELGAR: Enigma Variations

Do you like puzzles? Legend has it there’s a hidden melody in Edward Elgar’s eminent score, which features 14 variations on an original theme — each a separate musical portrayal of a friend or family member. His ninth variation, called “Nimrod,” has been widely adapted for films such as Dunkirk and Elizabeth.
