News from Primo Artists | Fall 2021

On October 6, Carnegie Hall kicked off their Opening Night Gala with composer Valerie Coleman’s Seven O'Clock Shout, commissioned and performed by The Philadelphia Orchestra under Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin. In February 2022, Coleman will see the World Premiere of her new song cycle performed by soprano Angel Blue with The Philadelphia Orchestra and Nézet-Séguin in Philadelphia and at Carnegie Hall.

In the LA Phil’s highly publicized return to Walt Disney Concert Hall on October 9, Seong-Jin Cho appeared as soloist with Gustavo Dudamel at the LA Phil’s Homecoming Gala. Seong-Jin also performed at the International Chopin Piano Competition Opening Gala in Warsaw to kick off the XVIII edition of the competition which attracted 56,000 viewers around the world.

Randall Goosby commenced his 2021/22 Season with an internationally broadcast performance at the National September 11th Twentieth Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony and Season Opening concerts with the Baltimore Symphony and Dalia Stasevska. From there, he embarked on a UK debut tour with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and in recital at Wigmore Hall, highlighted in a BBC News profile.

Itzhak Perlman is having a busy Fall playing multiple season-opening concerts and galas! On September 11, he play/conducted the Baltimore Symphony at their Season Opening Gala, and in a star-studded weekend of concerts, on October 9, he opened The McKnight Center’s season. On December 2, Perlman will perform the New York Philharmonic’s first gala in 22 months with Jaap van Zweden. On December 11, he plays the Nashville Symphony’s 75th Anniversary Gala.

Beatrice Rana returned to the States for concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall with the LA Phil and conductor Susanna Mälkki on October 29-31 and made her Boston Symphony Orchestra debut with Dima Slobodeniouk on November 4-6. In March 2022, she makes her Stern Auditorium recital debut at Carnegie Hall on their Keyboard Virtuosos I series.

Joshua Bell opened the Minnesota Orchestra’s 2021/22 Season with Osmo Vänskä on September 23 and from there Joshua embarked on a European tour with NDR Elbphilharmonie and Alan Gilbert. He play/directs The Philadelphia Orchestra on November 18-20 and performs Beethoven Concerto with the New York Philharmonic on November 24-27 with Music Director Jaap van Zweden.
