Randall Goosby is currently touring the U.S. with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Conductor Ed Gardner, performing at the Mondavi Center in Davis, CA, The Soraya in Northridge, CA, Wharton Center in East Lansing, MI and Tilles Center in Brookville, NY. From October 24 to 26, Goosby appears with the Utah Symphony, and on November 14 and 15, he makes his debut with the Minnesota Orchestra under Music Director Thomas Søndergård. On December 6 and 7, Goosby performs in Edinburgh and Glasgow with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
Itzhak Perlman has been busy selling out season-opening gala concerts across the States on his "Cinema Serenade" program with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under Music Director Manfred Honeck and the Richmond Symphony, and in Kansas City at Harriman-Jewell Series on his popular In the Fiddler’s House klezmer show. He embarks on a West Coast tour with recitals presented by the Oregon Symphony on November 12 and Seattle Symphony on November 13 and will be joined on his Itzhak Perlman & Friends program by luminaries Emanuel Ax, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and the Juilliard String Quartet for concerts presented by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, UCSB Arts and Lectures and the San Francisco Symphony from November 6 to 10.
Valerie Coleman will have her Fanfare for Uncommon Times performed at Carnegie Hall by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s under the baton of Louis Langrée on November 14. Her Concerto for Orchestra (Renaissance), which was premiered by The Philadelphia Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin at Carnegie Hall last May, will be premiered regionally by her hometown orchestra, Louisville Orchestra, under Music Director Teddy Abrams on November 15 and 16.
James Gaffigan opened his Valencia Opera season in a brilliant production of Massenet’s Manon from October 3 to 15. He launches his second season as Music Director with Komische Oper Berlin on October 31 in a program entitled James’ Choice, a program of his choice of works, at the Berlin Konzerthaus and leads productions of Barrie Kosky’s production of Sweeney Todd from November 17 to January 4 and Serebrennikov’s staging of Marriage of Figaro from November 23 to December 27.
Joshua Bell has just released two new albums: Thomas De Hartmann Rediscovered on Pentatone and an album of Mendelssohn piano trios with collaborators Jeremy Denk and Steven Isserlis on Sony Masterworks. His season began with performances with the Los Angeles Phil at the Hollywood Bowl and the Buffalo Philharmonic’s season-opening concert with Music Director JoAnn Falletta. Bell brought his "Voice & the Violin" program with soprano Larisa Martinez to the Cincinnati Symphony on October 6 and the Harriman-Jewell Series in Kansas City on October 8.
Christian Reif kicked off his 2024/25 season with his Los Angeles Phil debut on an all-Dvořák program featuring Midori at the Hollywood Bowl. He opened his second season as Music Director of the Gävle Symphony Orchestra in September and makes his debut with the Phoenix Symphony in November. He leads a tour of his own arrangement of John Adams’ El Niño with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester on December 6, Gävle Symphony Orchestra on December 12 and the American Modern Opera Company in New York at St. John the Divine on December 19. All performances feature soprano Julia Bullock, mezzo-soprano Rachael Wilson and bass-baritone Davóne Tines, with countertenor Anthony Roth Constanzo joining for the Gävle concert.
Cristian Măcelaru, who appeared at the Paris 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony broadcast to 1.5 billion viewers worldwide, launched his first edition as Artistic Director of the George Enescu International Competition in September. He began his season with Orchestre National de France at the Grafenegg Festival and leads the ONF on tour with pianist Beatrice Rana in Paris on November 28, Hamburg on December 2, Frankfurt on December 4, Cologne on December 5 and Stuttgart on December 6.
Gemma New continues to lead the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra as Principal Conductor with performances all across New Zealand this Fall. In North America, she will conduct the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra on October 11 and 12 and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on October 18 and 19. New makes debuts with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales on October 24 and the Juilliard Orchestra on December 14 in New York.
