News from Primo Artists | Spring 2016

Last month Itzhak Perlman returned to Europe for a milestone tour in celebration of his 70th birthday and performed to sold-out audiences in Paris, Munich and London. Fans in Germany, where he had not toured in nearly 20 years, were particularly emotional when hearing him play John Williams’ Theme from “Schindler’s List”.

Nicola Benedetti and cellist Leonard Elschenbroich recently toured New Zealand with Edo de Waart and the New Zealand Symphony.  Their 8 concerts were received with much excitement and rave reviews.  Click here to see a clip of their exciting performance!

Cristian Macelaru was lauded last month for his “powerful” Philadelphia Orchestra concerts performing Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.  This great press comes off of his successful subscription week with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C.  Later this month Macelaru returns to the Chicago Symphony to conduct Holst’s Planets and the world premiere of the Dusapin Cello Concerto with soloist Alisa Weilerstein.

Perlman also found time in his demanding schedule to record a new album in Paris with renowned piano virtuoso Martha Argerich.  The eagerly anticipated album will be released in late 2016 on Warner Classics.

Arnaud Sussmann made quite a splash on his way to a stellar debut with the Grand Rapids Symphony on Bartok 2 last week.  Check out his practice spot in a video that went viral on his Facebook page
