New York, NY (November 8, 2024) – Primo Artists is honored to announce that clients have received nine nominations for the 67th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, to be held Sunday, February 2, 2024 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, recognizing recordings released between September 16, 2023 to August 30, 2024.
In the Best Instrumental Composition category, PR client Akropolis Reed Quintet is nominated alongside composer and pianist Pascal Le Boeuf and drummer Christian Euman for “Strands,” a movement from the Le Boeuf’s album-length piece, Are We Dreaming The Same Dream?, released April 26, 2024 on Bright Shiny Things.
In the Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance category, nominees include PR clients Christopher Cerrone and Lorelei Ensemble for Cerrone’s Beaufort Scales (May 17, 2024, Cold Blue Music); PR client Miró Quartet for their album Home, featuring music by Kevin Puts and Caroline Shaw paired with works by George Walker and Samuel Barber (May 10, 2024, Pentatone); and PR client JACK Quartet for its recording of John Luther Adams’ Waves & Particles (May 17, 2024, Cold Blue Music)
PR client cellist Seth Parker Woods is nominated for the third consecutive year for his significant contribution to Wild Up’s latest issue in its Julius Eastman series, Julius Eastman Vol. 4: The Holy Presence (June 21, 2024, New Amsterdam Records), in the category of Best Classical Instrumental Solo. In the same category, PR client composer and violinist Curtis Stewart has been nominated as soloist in the world premiere recording of Julia Perry’s Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, part of the Experiential Orchestra’s album American Counterpoints (March 1, 2024, Bright Shiny Things). American Counterpoints has also been nominated for the Best Classical Compendium category.
PR client soprano Karen Slack’s debut album Beyond the Years — Unpublished Songs of Florence Price (July 26, 2024, Azica Records) has been nominated in the Best Classical Solo Vocal category. Produced by Azica’s Alan Bise and ONEcomposer, Slack is joined on the album by pianist Michelle Cann.
In the Best Contemporary Classical Composition category, Primo Artists composer Valerie Coleman has been nominated for the world premiere recording of her piece Revelry, released on chamber music collective Decoda’s eponymous debut album, DECODA (May 10, 2024, Bright Shiny Things).
The 67th GRAMMY® Awards will be broadcast from Los Angeles on CBS and Paramount+ on Sunday, February 2, beginning at 8pm ET. Prior to the telecast, many of the above categories will be announced during The GRAMMY® Awards Premiere Ceremony, which will stream live on grammy.com starting at 3:30pm ET.
