Seong-Jin Cho praised for his Pittsburgh Symphony performance in February 3, 2020 edition of The New Yorker

Last month, our pianist Seong-Jin Cho played highly praised performances with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the baton of maestro Manfred Honeck at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Hall. The program included Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra, Ravel’s Boléro and Liszt’s Concerto No. 2 in A Major for Piano and Orchestra.

In a profile of Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony, Alex Ross of The New Yorker Magazine said, “I attended a Sunday matinée concert at which the orchestra played Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra and Ravel’s Boléro, and accompanied the gifted young Korean pianist Seong-Jin Cho in Liszt’s Second Concerto.”

Watch Seong-Jin Cho’s interview with Jim Cunningham on WQED, where they discuss Liszt’s Concerto No. 2.
