Nicola Benedetti premiered a new concerto by Wynton Marsalis to rave reviews with the London Symphony Orchestra on November 6, 2015.

Critics lauded the performance as "convincingly idiomatic" and "enormously impressive". The duo worked on this concerto closely together in a long, careful and often painstaking process, which was documented in a film which will air throughout the U.K. on BBC4 next year.  Click here for more reviews on the milestone premiere.

Kicking off the New York Philharmonic's sold-out three-week Rachmaninoff Festival this month, Cristian Macelaru conducted five phenomenal performances of Rachmaninoff's music November 11-17, 2015.  Featuring young piano dynamo Daniil Trifonov, the concerts which took place at Lincoln Center's newly named David Geffen Hall were met with much acclaim and standing ovations.

 

Having just completed an 11-city tour throughout Asia, Itzhak Perlman was featured yesterday, November 23rd, on National Public Radio's Morning Edition (click here for segment).  Today on November 24th, he heads to the White House where he will be presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom - regarded as the United States' highest civilian honor - by President Barack Obama.
